Effiduase Chief begs Akufo-Addo Not TO Reappoint Mary Boatemaa As Their DCE

Published

on

Chief of Effiduase Nana Adu Ameyaw II has called on the president of the Republic of Ghana His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo to listen to their plea and avoid the reappointment of Mary Boatemaa as the DCE For their constituency..

According to Nana Adu Ameyaw II , the Past DCE has not been of any help to the community as she was responsible for the sabotaging of the NPP Member of Parliament for the constituency and also utter disregard for Traditional leaders in the District.

The act of the DCE led to his removal by the president but was reinstated again without any explanation given as to what led to her been reinstated to her position.

Chief and elders of Asante Effiduase in his plea to the president revealed that Mrs.Mary has been nothing but a disgrace to their community and does not deserve to be given anothernopportunity in the second tenure of the president.

Chief of Effiduase

Nana Adu Ameyaw added that the DCE is very “Imcompetent” and also “not fit to lead the people as the District Chief Executive”.

Speaking during a press briefing he stated saying;

We are all aware of the issues between Hon. Mary Boateng and the MP. For now, the MP has won the elections. What we are left with is to get a DCE. But for the DCE position, we beg the President that Mary cannot become our DCE because she cannot work with the MP. There are several issues and even when I wanted to intervene for us to settle them amicably, Mary refused coming and said she has to consult her lawyers.

What we want is a competent individual who will come and handle the affairs of Effiduase because we have been lagging when it comes to development. Can you imagine that in the last term, the Assembly was unable to elect a presiding officer? We don’t want any incompetent person, what we want is a humble person and someone who listens to the elders in the District. All we want is development so we are pleading with the President to appoint someone who has the District at heart so that he/she can spearhead the development of the District,

Kennedy Agyapong Exposed After Ursula Owusu’s Vetting

Published

on

MP for the Assin Central  Kennedy Agyapong has been exposed by the Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) Sulemana Braimah after it was reported that the closure of some radio stations was motivated politically with some left stations like Oman Fm left untouched since it belonged to a member of the NPP.

It was revealed during the vetting of Mrs. Ursula Owusu that some radio station which fell short of the parameters put in place were left untouched and closed due to their affiliation to the New Patriotic Party.

Hon. Kennedy Agyapong who felt the words of an accusation made by the minister were false revealed that the MP for Asawase Hon. Muntaka Mohammed to apologize to Oman FM for spreading falsehood about the Radio Station.

Sulemana Braimah who wasn’t on the same page with Kennedy Agyapong on his statement revealed that it was rather  National Communication Authority who needed to ask for forgiveness after leaving Oman FM who was owing to still operate when they knew they were having some issues pending.

Mr. Sulemana who is known for his fight for the freedom of the media added that Oman Fm should be closed to prove that there is no political interference if they want to be fair to the other stations that were close.

Taking to his Facebook handle he wrote saying;

I hear Hon. Ken Agyapong is demanding apology from Hon. Muntaka for saying at the Appointment’s Committee of Parliament that Oman FM, which belongs to Hon. Agyapong had not renewed its frequency authorisation and yet was not shut down by the NCA. Well, if anything Hon. Agyapong should be directing his request for apology to the NCA whose record indicated clearly that his station had not renewed its authorisation. Below is a screenshot from the NCA’s own data on list of Authorised VHF-FM Radio stations in Ghana as at Fourth Quarter (that is end of year) 2019. This data was published after the NCA had shut down several radio stations for failing to renew their authorisation. By law frequency Authorisation renewal is required every 5 years. The NCA record shows Oman FM got its authorisation in 2006. There is a column for last date of renewal of authorisation. What is in that column? Blank. For purposes of comparison and confirmation, see the other picture with NEAT FM from the same document of the NCA. NEAT FM got its first authorisation in 2008 and last date of renewal is indicated as 2016. So if Oman FM had renewed its authorisation why was their date of authorisation not indicated just as that of NEAT FM and the others whose last date of renewal have been indicated in the same document?” he questioned.
